Industrial Maintenance Technician Job Description Template

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician serves as a frontline technical resource for the Customer, and Maintenance Department. Technician is responsible for both Preventative (PM), and Reactive Maintenance in the effort to sustain Reliability Centered Maintenance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to safe work practices/regulations, and participate in Safety training activities.
  • Attend Quality training, and is expected to contribute to the continuous improvement of quality in effort to be a defect-free packaging facility
  • Undergo progress evaluation in which “Knowledge” and “Performance” are assessed
  • Perform unplanned, planned, and scheduled maintenance tasks on a daily basis utilizing basic electrical or mechanical skills
  • Perform periodic equipment inspection and monitoring,
  • Actively participate in rebuilds/overhauls
  • Contribute to standardization and process implementation,
  • Job Skills & Qualifications

    Preferred:

    • Ability to troubleshoot and repair any PLC ladder logic issue including documentation is a plus.
    • Maintains accurate and legible documentation of work effort.
    • Able to bring any plant machine back to OEM condition.
    • Required:

      • Must have a minimum of 2 years’ verifiable industrial experience.
      • Safely use basic hand and power tools.
      • Uses Maintenance Connection, or similar CMMS system to track all work orders.
      • Maintains tools and work area in a manner consistent with the 6S guidelines.
      • Able to calibrate any of the plant equipment or components.
      • Contributes to the betterment of PM program with comments and suggestions as needed.
      • Takes ownership of his/her line and assigned work area.
