Job Summary:

We’re looking for a proven leader who’s eager to grow, manage, and inspire a group that includes Plastic Manufacturing Engineers, a Mold Tool Engineer, and a Tool Room Manager. As a hands-on Injection Dye Molding Plastics Manager you’ll get the opportunity to shape and implement standard processes for tooling and molding as well as make key decisions re in-house production and vendor procurement.

You’ll be a key member of the leadership team and an integral part of helping our company achieve short-term production targets and longer term growth and sustainability goals.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and manage the work assignments and personnel for the Tool Room and Plastic Manufacturing Engineering department.
  • Monitor and manage the inventory of the Tool Room, including perishable tooling, mold and die components, operating supplies, and capital expenditures.
  • Monitor and assist with the establishment of tool samples and design experiments for new and existing molds.
  • Coordinate and manage the tooling demands and requirements for the manufacturing facility and support the molding operations.
  • Coordinate and implement standard processes for tooling, molding, and process controls between company molding locations.
  • Manage tooling and piece part cost estimates for the company along with external vendor(s).
  • Collaborate with staff to determine whether tooling should be manufactured in-house or procured from outside vendor(s).
  • Lead project management of work taking place at outside vendors.

Job Skills & Qualifications:

Preferred:

  • Tool/Design Engineering Desired.
  • Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing experience.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Operations) with emphasis in Plastic Injection Molding.
  • 10 years’ experience with 5 years or more experience managing plastics molding department(s) and/or tool room(s).
  • Strong management and leadership skills
