What to Include in a Winning Registered Dental Hygienist Job Description

When writing your registered dental hygienist job description, you want to be sure that you’re presenting clear and accurate information in an easily digestible format. Professionals seeking a job will often look at more than one job description, and they’re likely to skim rather than read.

This means you need to supply information to them without a lot of extra verbiage, and you need to break down text in small and easy-to-read chunks, as the registered dental hygienist job description template does on this page. It’s also important to make sure that you’re highlighting the most important data, such as skill requirements, job benefits and key job duties.

Job Summary: Generally speaking, the job duties for a registered dental hygienist will be about the same, so the job summary should explain not only what a person will be doing but why they’d want to be doing it specifically for you. Refer to the registered dental hygienist job description template above for more ideas.

Duties & Responsibilities: It’s important to accurately convey what you’ll expect a registered dental hygienist to be doing for you on a daily basis. Be sure to highlight key components of a job, and keep it down to six to eight things that are key functions of a person’s role in this position. Again, referring to the registered dental hygienist job description template above is a good idea.

Skills: One of the most important things to keep in mind when writing skills sections is that there are absolute musts and things that are nice to have. Be sure to indicate which are which and to include anything that is required to be considered for a position.

Company Overview: This is where you can talk about why a person would want to work for your practice or in your office. Studies show that job satisfaction is just as – if not more important than – salary, and you need to demonstrate that people will be happy working for you. Talk up some of the best aspects of your business, including perks, working environment and how things are run.
