- Originate and check basic structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, material requisitions.
- Prepare structural calculations and details of structural elements for various materials, predominantly underground pipe loadings, steel, and concrete.
- Analyze structures using various structural engineering software programs.
- Coordinate technical documents with other engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.
- Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues, and participate in technical meetings and perform intra-discipline coordination.
- Assume a Lead Engineer position on projects as required, which will required planning and coordinating project activities, providing input for manpower forecasting and scheduling, preparing project WBS and status progress on projects, and monitoring and controlling changes and conduct of other Lead Engineer functions.
- Develop cost estimates from the engineering drawings, and proactively identify deficiencies and/or questions.
- Prepare estimate bid schedule and bid review, and participate in pre-bid and post-bid analysis and close outbid.

- Must be a registered PE, or must complete PE certification by end of first year of employment
