Human resources is the department of an organization that manages the workers employed within that business or organization. Human resource professionals spend a significant amount of time reviewing employment applications, contacting potential applicants, and even conducting interviews. These same people are also charged with ensuring that all local, state and federal employment laws are being adhered to by all workers within the company. If accusations of misconduct or disputes arise, human resource workers will usually be responsible for conducting thorough investigations into the matter. The job of a human resource worker involves the handling of payroll, benefit, and employee training issues. Resource workers may also conduct orientation sessions for new employees, as well as meetings to discuss issues that are relevant to current employees. These workers also facilitate human resource development programs in order to increase productivity within the organization.
