Minorities is a broad term that refers to men and women who are part of minority groups. For employment and workforce purposes, those who fall under this category are racial minorities: black, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific Islander, American Indian or Alaskan Native.
Minorities must be listed in an EEO-1 Report, also known as The Employer Information Report, which collects data about race or ethnicity, as well as gender. This data is required from any employer who has over 100 employees, and the information is used for enforcement, research and employer self-assessment. While the individual information collected is confidential, the public can view the aggregate data.
